ALLEPPY : Alappuzha popularly known as Alleppy is an important tourist destination in India. The Backwaters of Alappuzha are the most popular tourist attraction in Kerala. A houseboat cruise in these backwaters is a delightful experience. It connects Kumarakom and Cochin towards north and Quilon to the South. A town with picturesque canals, backwaters, beaches, and lagoons, it was described as the one of the places known as “Venice of the East” by Lord Curzon.TEKKADY : Thekkady is India ‘s largest wildlife sanctuary . It is the Country’s sole Tiger reserve, with its bountiful treasures of tropical flora and fauna is the ultimate reservoir of many endangered species and a rich tribal culture. Thekkady is a pleasant heaven on earth for those who love nature in its wild manifestations. The greatest attraction of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake. Sanctuary can be accessed through a nature walk, boating or jeep safari.
Thekkady is considered a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and clove.
MUNNAR: Munnar is a hill station on the Western Ghats, a range of mountains situated in the Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala. The name Munnar is believed to mean “three rivers”, at the confluence of the Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers.Mattupetty dam is approximately 13 km from Munnar in Kerala. It is situated at an altitude of 1700m above the sea level and is highly famous for the Indo-Swiss live stock projects. The dam is the perfect spot to see hundred ranges of high yielding cattle nurtured. Close to the Dam is a beautiful lake, which is a well known tourist spot in the area. It offers boating facilities. The tourists are permitted to see three cattle sheds at the farm out of the eleven cattle sheds. The Mattupetti dam as well as the lake is at close proximity from the farm and is a very charming picnic spot.
The Kundala tea plantations is also an exotic attractions of the nearby area.
WAYNAD : The name Wayanad is believed to be derived from ‘Vayal nadu’, which means ‘Paddy Fields’ with Karnataka and Tamilnadu states as its borders, Wayanad, blessed with beautiful landscapes, lake, waterfalls, historic places, wildlife and picturesque mountains, is on the Western Ghats in north Kerala. Strikingly scenic, it is known for its sub-tropical savannahs, picturesque hill stations, spice plantations and rich cultural traditions. A holistic confluence of wilderness, history and culture, Wayanad is located on the southern tip of the magnificent Deccan plateau.COCHIN : Kochi, formerly Cochin, is a major port city on the west coast of India by the Arabian Sea and is part of the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala. Kochi is often called by the name Ernakulam, which refers to the mainland part of the city.Chinese Fishing Nets, Fort Kochi : The chinese fishing nets (Cheenavala) are distinctly unique to Cochin. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here. Oddly, these nets are found only in Kochi, outside China! Many fishermen earn their livelihood by fishing using these massive nets. A whole stretch of the coast along Fort Kochi and Vypeen are dotted with these nets.
